When Plano’s Interurban Railway Museum opened the Motormen became a central part of our museum experience. Volunteer docents dressed as Motormen and guided visitors through the restored Car 360 and the former Plano Station. We found that both kids and adults alike responded positively to our Motormen, and even loved taking photos with them!
We now offer this educational outreach program created to bring our Motormen to you! We will travel to schools, daycares, senior centers, and libraries in Plano and the surrounding cities to share our expertise and knowledge at fairs, history days, and other special events. We bring a small selection of artifacts from the museum's teaching collection for hands-on learning experiences, as well as souvenir train tickets for each attendee.
We are currently offering this program for free for all Collin County and surrounding schools, daycares, summer camps, etc. who have been affected by the COVID19 pandemic! Keep us in mind for late May or summer if you have a free day in your curriculum.
The times and days we offer this program are highly dependent on our volunteer Motormen's availability.
To secure your desired date please contact us as soon as possible to begin the reservation process!
